Resilience in education is the foundation that helps to unlock the academic potential in many subjects including maths and literacy. Teaching children resilience facilitates children to resolve conflicts, assess and reflect on their choices, regulate emotions, and take responsibility for their actions.
Resilient children proactively seek to find solutions to problems, use effective forms of verbal and non – verbal communication and demonstrate kindness and empathy to those in need. They also seek to be positive leaders and role models within the community.
The School For Living programme offers children the opportunity to develop these skills and many more through an evidence-based programme (Dusty and Friends) that has been tested through a PhD model. The Dusty and Friends Programme has shown to facilitate behaviour changes in children to actually learn, develop and apply the skills of resilience. Resilience builds self-esteem, self-confidence, self-respect, and self-love.
What is even more exciting, the School For Living, Dusty and Friends Programme is sustainable and aligns perfectly with the emerging Personal Development, Health and Physical Education guide K-10, 2019. It comes equipped with a package for effective, simple and easy delivery that saves time whilst delivering quality outcomes.
